Volodymyr Zelensky is traveling to the United States, where he himself confirmed that he will meet with US President Joe Biden.
“On the way, the United States will strengthen Ukraine’s resilience and security capabilities. In particular, I will discuss Ukraine-US cooperation with Biden. I will address Congress and hold several bilateral meetings,” he said.
According to the White House, after the meeting with the US president, Zelensky will go to Congress in Washington, where a new aid package for Ukraine should be announced. White House spokeswoman Karine Jean-Pierre said in a statement: “This visit underscores the firm commitment of the United States to support Ukraine.
This support, in practice, translates into weaponry. In this case, the White House has emphasized that the new arms package includes two billion euros and Patriot missiles.
These are seen as important to help Kiev, which has many problems with its air defense system. The Patriots are considered the best system for neutralizing various types of air threats such as missiles, aircraft and drones.
“They will discuss all elements of this conflict, including the situation on the battlefield and the question of where the war is going. This is a strong message of unity and commitment from the White House, from Washington, from the free world. All countries that support Ukraine,” the White House stressed.
