The A recent report by the British military intelligence services, cited by Europa Press, refers to the Russian Navy’s OKEAN-24 maneuvers, which took place between September 10 and 16, after a two-year suspension “of course” due to the conflict in Ukraine.
“OKEAN-24 is intended to demonstrate (Russia’s) range and capability despite the war. Russian media initially reported that more than 400 ships, 120 aircraft, 7,000 vehicles and 90,000 troops would be involved,” a military statement said on social network X.
The geographic scope of the exercises will be the Barents Sea, Baltic Sea, Mediterranean Sea and Caspian Sea, the report added. “But Russia exaggerated this number, because at the moment there are only about 300 ships”, according to London.
“There is no OKEAN-2024 activity in the Black Sea, most likely due to Ukrainian attacks in the first six months of 2024,” he noted.
