Russia test-fired an intercontinental ballistic missile on Monday during US President Joe Biden’s visit to Ukraine. According to military officials who spoke to CNN, the test ended in failure.

Russia notified the United States before conducting the test through dedicated lines for these scenarios, one of the sources added. The exercise poses no risk to the United States, which does not see the event as an anomaly or escalation in the tense atmosphere between Moscow and the West.

The test in question used a SARMAT missile known in the West as Satan II, which is capable of carrying multiple nuclear warheads. Apparently, and according to US reports, the test ended in failure. And, experts believe, if the test had been successful, the Russian president would have mentioned it in his State of the Nation address.
