Ukraine announced new attacks in the east

“We continue to work to be strong and successful,” Deputy Defense Minister Hannah Maliar said

Ukraine’s Defense Ministry announced Saturday that it will advance in several directions on the Eastern Front, aiming to launch an offensive against Moscow’s forces.

According to Deputy Defense Minister Hanna Maliar, the offensive is being directed at “multiple directions” simultaneously, including the city of Pakmut, where the Russian side continues heavy bombing against Ukrainian troops.

Maliar, quoted by Ukrinform, called the Wagner mercenary insurgency in the Russian Federation “a window of opportunity” for Ukraine that would demonstrate “the inevitable deterioration of the Russian state.”

Despite this, Hanna Malier appealed to Ukrainian citizens not to rest and to “be careful and be prepared for any situation”.

“We continue to work to be strong and win,” Maliar said, as quoted by EFE.

The counter-offensive comes amid a crisis following a coup by Yevgeny Prigozhin, head of the Wagner paramilitary group, who announced today that he had occupied Rostov, a key southern Russian city, over the war in Ukraine. He called for a revolt against the Russian military command, accusing him of attacking his militia.
