Tyson is moving all of the company’s employees to Northwest Arkansas

Tyson will require all company employees to relocate to Springdale, Arkansas, according to a press release. Tyson will move workers from Chicago, Doners Grove, Illinois and South Dakota to Arkansas over the next 10 months, starting in early 2023. “This is great news,” said Springdale Mayor, Doug Sprouse. “With all the uncertain economic news today, we’ve done very well,” said Derek Burleson, a company spokesman. Tyson will provide resettlement assistance. “It speaks volumes about the momentum we’re having across Northwest Arkansas,” said Nelson Peacock, CEO of Northwest Arkansas Council. “Not only can you get a great job and work for a company like Tyson but there is a great quality of life here and they will be able to attract these people here.” People who don’t want to relocate may experience harshness, but this will be decided on a case-by-case basis, Burleson said. According to the press release, this will promote close collaboration, enhance team members’ agility, and promote faster decision-making. around the OneTyson campus over the next several months. This will affect about 1,000 workers, said Derek Burleson, a spokesman for the company. Tyson will provide assistance with the transition.

There are about 1,700 workers currently at the headquarters in Springdale now, Burleson said.

The statement stated that the company will release specific details about the OneTyson campus over the next several months. The sanctuary will take several years to develop, and some of the existing buildings will be remodeled.

“Not only is it great for Springdale, it’s great for Northwest Arkansas and great for the state,” Sprouse said.
