The Pope Francis, this Friday, spoke about elections in the United States, suggesting that voters will make a choice “between the lesser evils.”
“You must choose the lesser of two evils. Who is the lesser of two evils? The lady or the gentleman? I don’t know.”The Pope said during the press conference, as quoted by reporters.
“All men of conscience ought to think and act on this.”He said.
Criticizing Donald Trump’s anti-immigration policies on the one hand and Kamala Harris’ support for abortion rights on the other, Francisco explained why it was difficult to choose between the two.
“Sending migrants, leaving them where you want, abandoning them … something terrible, there is evil in it”He has been critical of Republican policies, and he played out another anti-immigrant episode this week, accusing him of eating pets in Ohio. Statements made during the debate have already been criticized by many, including US President Joe Biden, who said the situation “puts these people under attack”.
But Pope Francis said, “To send a child from its mother’s womb is murder, because there is life. We must speak clearly about these things.”
