A Brazilian TikTok influencer, who went missing for two days, was found dead in her car after she claimed she was driving off a cliff.
Authorities reportedly discovered the deceased woman, 41-year-old Raquel da Silva Mora Medeiros, in an overturned car near the BR-364 motorway in Ariquemis, Rondonia, on October 18.
The Federal Highway Police concluded that her car overturned after falling off a cliff on the side of the road without suspecting an error. They claimed that it took so long to find the dentist’s body because her car was hidden in a patch of vegetation, G1 Global reported.
This marked the tragic end of a horrific saga that began after Medeiros’ disappearance two days earlier on October 16. The deceased reportedly left the municipality of Ji Parana – her birthplace – at around 10 p.m. that day in a white Chevrolet. Onyx.
She was last seen on CCTV cameras arriving at Jarrow, the last town on the way to Ariquemes – 20 minutes after the drive began.
After Medeiros did not return home, concerned family members later posted a missing persons notice on social media, alerting authorities to her disappearance, Jam Press reported. This prompted a major research effort with authorities patrolling parts of the route between their launch point and where they were last seen with the help of air support. That’s when they recovered her remains.
Medeiros was an accomplished dentist who specialized in orthodontics and hospital dentistry – which she regularly documented to her followers on TikTok. She also posted videos related to travel, friends, family, and going to the gym.
Coworkers at the primary health care unit in Arikimis, where she has worked since 2017, claimed Medeiros was “liked by patients and co-workers”.
Her family said Medeiros would be buried on October 20 in a church in Arikimis.
