Someone has created a mod to the original Final Fantasy VII Adds full voice acting to Square Enix’s mega-RPG 97.

the FFVII Voice modulation, called Echo-S 7Created by Tsunamods, a team of modding experts specializing in re-textures and upgrading 3D models for Final Fantasy a series. According to Tsunamods, the Echo-S 7 mod was created by having voice actors from the YouTube channel Stills Studio Perform vocal lines and personal barks. Be sure to check that your headphones are securely attached to your laptop before playing because these (sweethearted) eco-terrorists swear by it. Echo-S 7 comes out today (how lucky).

“The text used in this mode is actually the original Japanese text that has been properly retranslated, compared to the poor original text we got,” Tsunamods wrote in the video’s description box. “Granted though, we modified it to sound more human because text boxes can read very differently than when spoken aloud.”

For example, instead of having Tifa repeat the line “Get rid of it. Let’s try again” an infinite number of times while she, Claude, and Barrett are forced to press a button simultaneously in the reactor opening sequence, Tifa will gradually become frustrated if players fail to This infamous little game.

“Looks like we added a lot of swearing in the trailer specifically,” Tsunamodes wrote on YouTube. “The mod doesn’t actually have much at all, it just happened to be in areas/features that we wanted to show off. So we may have mispresented ourselves a little bit there.”

The Echo-S 7’s voice acting is pretty great. However, I’m biased because his vocal performance sounds like a playable version of Four star team Final Fantasy MachineBread YouTube series. Before the Echo-S 7, Tsunamods made a quality of life mod for FFVII named Cosmo memory which replaced the game’s sound effects and added ambient field sounds and battle sounds, among other features. Tsunamods documented the working process on the Echo-S 7 on Facebook Twitch channel.

Let’s say you are part of the silent majority Final Fantasy Believers who believe Final Fantasy VIII And Final Fantasy IX They deserve some sonic treatment along with the Square Enix poster, FFVII. In that case, you’re in luck because Tsunamods is working on audio mods for those titles too, say in a comment for Kotaku Not to be afraid that those “will also take 7 years”.

“I promise, this shit has taken us years. We’re not going to waste all that time with the intent of destroying the very game we love and spend years working on,” Tsunamodes wrote.
