The Arc System Works Arc Revo America Championship is over, and with it brings loads of announcements for the future of Guilty Gear Strive and more.
The character for the first season of Strive was announced, which was not what the majority of players expected. The scythe-bearing Gothic is back with a minor redesign that includes a new jacket, ruffled bow tie, and top hat. Like previous iterations, The Elegant Grim Reaper’s attacks have a long range and now have personnel of demons to support them in the fight. Testament hasn’t been part of the Guilty Gear roster since terrorizing rivals in Guilty Gear Accent Core Plus R, but whether or not they’ll become dominant in Strive is up.
Along with the release of the Covenant will be the arrival of a new stage, the birth of the White House. Located on the grounds of the United States Presidential Residence after the events of the Strive story mode, the building is being reconstructed and “already rebuilt to its location as the Center of Government.”
Strive players will only have a short wait to get the Testament and the new White House Reborn stage because they will be available from March 28 for PS5, PS4 and PC Season Pass owners and for selective purchase on PC only. PlayStation players can purchase them separately on March 31.
Also coming on March 28 is the Digital Figure Mode, which allows players to place characters, furniture, effects, and more into scenes that can be shared with others online. The character’s facial expressions can also be changed, photo filters can be applied, and camera angles can be changed to add more creative control over the pose.
While it has been announced that it will be paired with the final character release of the Season Pass, a Story Mode expansion will be releasing by the end of April. Titled Another Story, this new narrative experience will focus on characters who did not appear during the original story mode.
All of the above concludes the Guilty Gear Strive Season Pass, but that won’t be the end of the new content coming to the game. Arc System Works has announced the start of a second season, with four more characters coming to Strive in the future. Cross-play between the PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4 and PC versions of Strive will be added on an unspecified date, with additional server improvements, including server connection times and network stability for online modes. There’s no word on when Season 2 will start because it’s obviously too early, but it’s great to know that the game will continue to be supported.
Finally, Arc Revo will continue the return of the Arc World Tour, a world championship series that has not been active since the start of the pandemic. Guilty Gear Strive will of course be a major game in the competition, but the upcoming Arc System Works DNF . duel He will also participate in the title of the series of events.
