US authorities are investigating the attack on Donald Trump as a “possible act of domestic terrorism” and attempted murder. The FBI indicates the shooter acted alone and dismisses heightened concerns for public safety.The family of the shooter, identified as Thomas Matthew Crooks, is cooperating with the investigation.
The weapon used in the attack was reportedly legally purchased by the suspect’s father. Officials also said The 20-year-old had no history of psychiatric problems.
Pennsylvania State Police have released the identities of two men who were injured in the shooting: two men, ages 57 and 74, who are in stable condition; A 50-year-old firefighter was shot and killed while protecting his family at a Republican candidate’s rally.
