UA pitbull dog that went missing two years ago was found this week and returned to its owner. The animal was still in the American city of Pensacola, about 700 kilometers from the city where it was last seen – Dade City.
North American Jasmine Nofsinger and her sister were returning from a cafe when they saw a dog on the side of the road. “He was so skinny. I could see all the ribs,” the woman told The Dodo.
The two went into a nearby car park and called the dog to them. “I got out of the car and he came running at me full speed with his whole body shaking,” she said, adding, “It’s the cutest thing ever.”
When the dog got in the car, the first thing the sisters did was take him to the vet to have him checked for a microchip, and it turned out the animal’s name was Ham and his home was in Dade City, Florida.
Microchip contacted Patricia DeWitt, and soon Jasmine Nofsinger was on the phone with the owner. “I had when I told you [Hamm]She started crying profusely and was in shock as she couldn’t believe she was holding it”, reports ‘Ratsakaar’.
Patricia DeWitt told the woman her pet had been missing since February 2021. At that time, when it escaped, the owners searched desperately, but the search turned up nothing.
Noffsinger and DeWit agreed to meet halfway in Tallahassee. “When [os DeWits] Stopping, Hamm ran straight towards them,” he said.
Noffsinger has received updates from Hamm every day since meeting him with his owner.
