Nope, the reveal of the mask we all dread didn’t happen in the third week of “The Masked Singer,” where two celebrities exited the show in a double elimination. This week, “Lost” and “Hawaii Five-0” star Jorge Reyes, who played the Cyclops, left the Philadelphia Eagles. Jordan Mailatarevealed as Thingamabob.
Reyes as Cyclops (from “Team Bad”) ended his career after a dramatic performance of “Flashdance (What a Feeling)” by Irene Kara, while Mailata as Thingamabob (from “Team Cuddly”) sang “Classic,” by MKTO. None of the show’s participants guessed.
“I don’t call myself a very cool singer, but I feel very good at delivering a song,” Reyes said. “All my life, I’ve always enjoyed singing. I did musicals in high school, and I was in the choir. And when I was in college, we’d give parties and form a band. There are a few times I’ve had opportunities to sing for jobs, but they’ve never been as front-line as my career.” Creative. But I thought it would be something unexpected for viewers of the show, and maybe it surprised some people!”
Reyes said this experience made him want to sing more and keep his voice in good shape, just in case it came in handy at another acting gig. “I want to treat it like another part of my toolbox and have it ready when a call comes in. I mean, I don’t see myself as releasing an album or anything. But it might show up in a project or two.”
It wasn’t easy to maneuver the giant’s costume, Reyes added, “This costume is huge! The head is giant. And then you start to get nervous and realize how all the parts are just too much weight affecting things. And then I have to be able to move and sing. But the result was Really cool. I love the way Cyclops looks and he was kind of a sexy character brought back to life.”
As for Mailata, the NFL star said he didn’t expect a call from “The Masked Singer.”
“When my agent called me, I thought maybe he found out I was going to the Pro Bowl,” he said. And he’s like, ‘I have something better. “It took me a while to appreciate the show because I’m so visionary during the season. Football came first. But after talking to my girlfriend and encouraging her relentlessly to do it, it was a once in a lifetime opportunity, I decided to continue it. We traveled to Cali and started shooting. Immediately “.
Milata said he is a regular singer at home, in the car, at the show, and even at work. “We’ve gotten to the point where guys are like, ‘We got it, you can sing! “I just love to sing, whatever the song is.”
He added that the show gave him the desire to explore his singing more: “Football will always be on top,” he said. “That’s what got me to this platform and what pays the bills. And after the whole experience on ‘The Masked Singer’, that’s something I’m thinking about now. Off-season, do I record albums or write songs? Because it’s my passion. Do I share that passion more than I used to? The past? It is something I will still try to figure out if I have the time to do so.”
As for Cyclops, Robin Thicke thought it was Kevin Smith. Ken Jeong appointed David Batista. Jenny McCarthy Wahlberg guessed that Zac Brown and Nicole Scherzinger went with Michael Keaton.
As for Thingamabob, Thicke came close to picking another NFL player, JJ Watt. McCarthy Walberg went with Michael Strahan. Jeong chose Liam Hemsworth. Scherzinger thought it was Dennis Rodman.
