I know there have been many attempts to release multiplayer mods for Skyrim Over the years, but none of these were as ambitious as the co-op style Skyrim together rebornwhich aims to get between 2-8 players running in the same game, completing the same missions and fighting the same monsters.
The device, which took years to make, was released last week. Although it is not without teething problems—You can read some of these here—Most of the time it works, allowing players to jump into the same world and sync all their moves and progression.
To see what it will actually be like, here’s a video the development team released earlier in the year, showing five players completing some story missions:
If you want to try it out for yourself, the team has also uploaded this helpful video showing you how to install the mod, followed by how to actually play it (it’s a lot easier than I thought, especially the latter, since all you have to do is wait for the introduction to finish and then Press the “Connect” button to join the server):
At the time of publication, the developers say you’ll want to try this with 2-8 players. But there is room for much more than that. Here’s another video from earlier in the year, showing a stress test where 25+ players were on the same map at the same time (the developers have since said you can get 30+ if you really pay):
If you want to install the mod, you will need the latest versions of any of the special edition or anniversary editionand then Head here to download.
