Coachella lineup changes continue as Skrillex, Four Tet and Fred once again.. are now joining the Southern California festival as they headline the weekend Sunday night, a source says painting.
The addition comes on the heels of Frank Ocean pulling out of the festival’s second weekend after a leg injury and a controversial show at the weekend, Blink 182 was also added to the main stage bill on Sunday night. (This past weekend, the reunited punk trio played the Sahara tent at Coachella on Friday night.)
Skrillex and Fred Again..and the Four Tet will be playing the main stage Sunday at 10:25pm after an hour-long set of Blink-182. A representative for Coachella declined to comment on the addition.
Fred again.. teased this performance on his Instagram with a pair of somewhat cryptic stories, one of which goes, “Okay, I can’t believe I’m saying this again, but does anyone know where Sonny is?” [Skrillex] It’s another of him and the four Tate in a van with the caption, “The Unexpected Diary.” [sic]. “
Sources close to the festival add that the trio will play on the tour on the satellite stage of the main stage, which was originally built to serve as an ice rink during Frank Ocean’s set, but was not used during the performance. (There will be no ice on the satellite platform this Sunday.)
The show would mark the trio’s first appearance together since February 18 at Madison Square Garden, which sold out the arena in two minutes. This five-hour show followed a series of spin-off performances by the trio in conjunction with the Skrillex album striving to shoot, which was released a day before the MSG show. Skrillex has also released a second album, do not get too closeduring the MSG set, with two new albums marking his first full-length releases since 2014 recess. Skrillex and Fred Again..and the Four Tet – the so-called Pangbourne House Mafia due to their early recording sessions in Pangbourne, England – represent three generations of dance music, with this show marking another peak moment for each artist. Though they’ve each previously played Coachella solo and among other projects — with a unique year kicking off this past April with a pair of well-received Coachella 2022 sets — this Sunday’s show will mark the biggest set they’ve done together so far. now.
The trio has had a bunch of collaborations together, including their latest, “Baby Again” which currently charts at No. 19 on Hot Dance/Electronic Songs.
