After only three seasons of the NFL, Harry Willis He stays away from sports.
Salama Colts announced his retirement on Wednesday via Instagram.
“I would first like to thank the Indianapolis Colts for giving me the opportunity to compete in the National Football League over the past three years,” Willis wrote in a statement. “I have built lifelong relationships with many of my teammates, coaches and support staff who have influenced me immensely. The lessons I learned at this point in my life will be valuable to me in my next semester.
“With much prayer and deliberation, I have chosen to officially retire from the NFL as I seek to devote the remainder of my life to further progress in the gospel of Jesus Christ. I thank all my family, friends and those who have supported me on this journey thus far, and I look forward to your continued support during the stage The following of my life. I feel both humbled and excited to pursue the holy calling that God brings into my life and which brings me so much joy and purpose. Thank you all for your support over the years.”
Before the Colts, Willis retired and expressed gratitude for his contributions.
Colts coach Frank Reich: “We thank and appreciate Khari’s contributions to the Colts on and off the field over the past three seasons.” He said in a statement. “Kharry’s character, leadership and professionalism will be missed in our locker room as well as Sunday’s play. I admire and respect his decision to move on to the next stage of his life and service and my prayers will always be with him.”
Willis arrived in Indianapolis via a fourth-round pick from Michigan State in 2019, appearing in 14 games (nine games) in his first season. He started all 14 games he played in 2020, scoring two interceptions, six defensive passes and 85 tackles before concluding his short career with 11 more games (10 starts), two more interceptions and 63 tackles in 2021. 2020 stands as the best professional season According to Pro Football Focus, which gave him a defensive score of 70.5.
Rather than continuing his endeavors on the pitch, Willis will be turning to making an even greater impact backed by his faith off the pitch.
