Russia has announced the launch of an intercontinental ballistic missile

This Friday, Russia conducted a test launch of an intercontinental ballistic missile, which the Russian Defense Ministry guaranteed “high reliability of Russian missiles.”

The launch took place from the Kapustin Yar military base in the Astrakhan region of Russia's European region.

The military memo points out that the test was carried out within the framework of state tests of Russian missile systems and “to ensure the stability of missiles in service”.

“The obtained results confirm the high reliability of Russian missiles to ensure the strategic defense of the Russian Federation,” the Russian military pointed out.

All missile targets were “fully completed,” the note added, without providing further details on the testing and characteristics of the missile used.

On February 24, 2022, Moscow launched an offensive against Ukraine, plunging Europe into its worst security crisis since World War II (1939-1945).

The Russian invasion was condemned by much of the international community, which responded by sending arms to Ukraine and strengthening economic and political sanctions on Moscow.
