Putin visits Crimean bridge as Russia launches massive offensive against Ukraine

A video of the Russian leader driving a Mercedes-branded car was posted on social media, where Putin can be seen crossing the damaged bridge with Deputy Prime Minister Marat Kuznulin in October.

This is Vladimir Putin’s first visit to Ukraine since the Russian invasion in February this year.

The head of the Kremlin contacted the workers and discussed the repair of the Kerch bridge with the government member responsible for the project.

In Monday’s blasts, at least two people died in Zaporizhia after some missiles landed near residential areas, although some were cleared by anti-aircraft defenses, local officials said.

Again, the attacks primarily targeted the country’s energy infrastructure, namely in cities such as Zaporozhye, Odessa, Cherkasy, Kharkiv, Dnipropetrovsk, and Poltava.

Oleksandre Staroukh, governor of the Zaporizhia region, said at least “two people were killed and two were wounded” when missiles hit houses in the village of Novossofivka.

Several buildings were destroyed in Zaporizhia region, according to military sources, and a spokesman for the municipal office earlier reported a series of explosions on the outskirts of the city.

In Kyiv, anti-aircraft warnings were activated this morning and local authorities asked people to seek shelter.

Oleksi Kuleba, head of the regional military administration, asked not to spread information about the situation in the Ukrainian capital on social media, advising to carefully follow indications from official sources.

Ukrainian Air Force spokesman Yuriy Ignat said he feared a new wave of Russian attacks against critical infrastructure like those that have taken place since mid-October.

Ignat noted several land-based missile launches from southern Russia and from ships in the Caspian and Black Seas.

Kyrillo Tymoshenko, the deputy head of the Ukrainian presidential office, also wrote on his Telegram social network account that “the enemy is attacking the territory again,” reporting warnings of airstrikes in various parts of the country.
