In a statement she shared on her Twitter, Jenkins began by writing, “Sigh… I am not one to take personal professional matters, but I will not allow inaccuracies to persist. Here are the facts.”
“When the backlash about World War III not happening, a catchy clickbait bogus story that I was the one to kill or walk away began to circulate,” Jenkins wrote. “It simply isn’t true. I didn’t get too far. I was open to thinking anything was asked of me. I understood there was nothing I could do to push anything forward at this time. DC is clearly buried in the changes they have to make, So I understand that these decisions are difficult right now.”
She continued, “I don’t want what has been a beautiful journey with WW to come down negatively. I have loved and been so honored to be the person who made these last two Wonder Woman films. She is an incredible character. Living by and around her values makes one a better person every day. I hope She and her legacy have a wonderful future ahead, with or without me.”
Jenkins went on to praise “absolute legend” Lynda Carter, the original Wonder Woman who appeared briefly in Wonder Woman 1984and the Gal Gadot franchise, which she calls “the greatest gift I’ve received on this whole journey. A dear friend, inspiration, and sister.”
Jenkins continued, “There are no words I can use to express how magical she is. She is a walking embodiment of Wonder Woman in real life and a better person than the world can imagine. I have never seen, once in the millions of moments I have had with her. She is a gift to this world, and more than that, Mine “.
