Last year, OnePlus and Oppo announced that they would merge, and as part of this deal, the two companies (which are owned by BBK Electronics) have merged their software units. The plan was to combine OnePlus’ OxygenOS UI with Oppo’s Color OS user interface to create a “unified user interface” that would debut on a new OnePlus 2022 phone. This should have been the end of OxygenOS.
OnePlus also announced that 15 guests will be allowed to attend the Open Ear Forum, which will be held on February 28. Given that the topic is OxygenOS 13, this is one event die-hard OnePlus fans won’t want to miss. And the company adds, “With such an interesting topic, we’re sure we don’t need to give up any swag to convince you to come forward, but, as always, there will be some for the participants!”
Those interested in applying to attend the Open Ear Forum can apply from now until February 18th. To apply, click on this link and you’ll be asked to fill out a six-minute survey asking for your email address, the name of your OnePlus community, and if you’d be interested in filling out a nondisclosure agreement if you were invited to join the forum. The event will be held on February 28 at 19:30 – 21:30 HKST / 17:00 – 19:00 India Time / 13:30 – 15:30 CET / 7:30 – 9:30 EST United.
OnePlus says, “This is one of the biggest topics we’ve submitted to the Open Ears forums so far, so don’t miss this opportunity. Your feedback will be helpful in shaping one of our most important OS updates. The OxygenOS team is hard at work and they want to hear from you!”
