oh Montpellier airport in the south of France was closed early Saturday morning after a cargo plane failed to land and ended up on the shores of a nearby lake.
“Complicated” operations to remove the aircraft from the site began on Sunday and officials hope to be able to resume flight connections by the beginning of the week.
“I can’t give an exact timetable yet, but in any case, we hope that flights will resume early next week,” Herald Meyer pointed out this Sunday.

Rain may have caused the West Atlantic Boeing 737 aircraft to make a difficult landing. The three crew members of the plane were not injured.
Montpellier Airport receives 197,000 passengers per month during the summer season.
