Kevin Conroyknown as the voice of the animated Batman for decades, is dead… TMZ has learned.
Kevin passed away on Thursday, according to his representative Gary Meriano …after a short battle with cancer.
The actor moved to California in 1980, where he made his debut in the TV series “Another World”… before working in theater and television for a number of years.
Kevin is remembered by many as the titular voice of Batman for decades, as he first played the Dark Knight in “Batman: The Animated Series” from 1992 to 1995.
Since his debut as a comic book hero, Kevin has played the character on TV, in movies, and even in video games countless times – including ‘Batman Beyond’, the 2001 Justice League series, ‘Batman: A Joke of Murder’ and every Batman video game series ‘Arkham’ .
He has received 7 awards over the years for his voice acting… including Best Actor for his work in video games in 2015.
Kevin wrote a story titled “Finding Batman” as part of the DC Comics Pride anthology in 2022… chronicling his experiences in his life as a gay man.
Fellow voice actor Diane Pershingknown for playing the villainous Poison Ivy alongside Kevin, shared her pain after Kevin’s death… he wrote, “He will be sorely missed not only by the series’ cast but by his legion of fans around the world.”
Kevin is survived by her husband Von C Williamssister Trisha Conroyand his brother Tom Conroy.
He was 66 years old.
