A 40-year-old Portuguese woman tells the Prime Minister how she risked her life and was hospitalized while undergoing surgery at a clinic in Turkey.

“I wanted to change my body. I didn’t want it in stages, I didn’t want it in stages. They said to me: ‘Okay, today we’ll do the arms, tomorrow we’ll do the legs, I didn’t want that. I wanted everything at once, and at that time I was in Turkey. The only clinics that promised”, says Sarah, her real name, who is now recovering from cosmetic surgery. “I followed Instagram ‘influencers’ and risked my life at the Unixone clinic”, recalls the 40-year-old woman who gained 25 kg due to the epidemic and wanted to quickly restore her perfect body.

“I thought I was going to get post-operative support. But there was no one who spoke Portuguese, not even English. It was Turkish, Turkish and they were walking around with cell phones with Google Translate, that’s how we communicated”, recalled the woman, who said she quickly realized something was wrong. “After waking up, my husband explains to me that he even thought I would get better. When I woke up I had a seizure and I was foaming at the mouth and they couldn’t wake me up. It was scary.”

He returned to Portugal and took the woman to hospital. She could not stand up and was in the hospital for seven days. Now he has at least three months to recover.Sarah’s case is not unique. Many women suffer from health problems after being admitted to clinics in Turkey.
