stray! Final Fantasy XVI! The Resident Evil 4 remake! Sony’s Big Not E3 State Play Show, which took place last night, It was unexpectedly packed. But amid this struggle, a kernel of news flew under the radar for an already out-of-the-box game: Forbidden horizon west It received a wave of much needed features, including a new game plus, in a sudden update.

Forbidden horizon westreleased for PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5 in February, is Guerrilla Games’ follow-up to Horizon Zero Dawn. like its predecessor, forbidden west It is an open world game set in a version of post-apocalyptic America, 1,000 years from now, where you fight against a whole host of gigantic robotic creatures. Upon its release, it was widely acclaimed, although players reported it due to a series of performance issues – nothing that breaks the game, just more things like random shimmering graphs. (It has since been repaired.) But once it’s over, it’s really over.

Patch 1.14 adds a bunch of long-wanted features to the game. The big thing, of course, is the addition of the new game mode, allowing you to replay the game with all the skills and equipment you gained through your initial play. This is paired with a new higher difficulty level, Ultra Hard. I’ve found that it can only be selected from the start of a new game – either an extra new game or a normal new game. I was unable to change the difficulty to Ultra Hard in my base save file. (okay by me: horizonReally hard enough in certain places!)

There is also a new option to reset your skills. From the Skills tab, click on any tree and press the Options button. That’s on top of one of the biggest features fans have been asking for: the transmission, allowing you to keep stats on your gear while switching its appearance to something else in your inventory. From the inventory tab, scroll down to Costumes and tap the triangle above the one you want main character Aloy to wear. You will then see a small eye icon on the item icon, indicating that you are wearing it – there are no loops to jump through or Strange currency systems to deal with.

In this last regard, Horizon follows in the footsteps of a current development trend, where massive open-world games typically don’t launch with this feature but see it added several months after launch. Ubisoft’s viking-themed RPG Assassin’s Creed Valhalla Send feature received Four months after its release in November 2020. CDPR’s Cyberpunk 2077 moviefirst released in December 2020, Quietly received a similar system Earlier this year, though, it’s half-baked.

horizonThe patch also “fixed” some “issues” that may or may not need fixing, depending on your point of view. For example: Tallnecks – roaming brachiosaurus-like robots that act as waypoints to clear the fog of war from the map – will no longer destroy any nearby machines upon activation. boo.
