Screenshots of the Pixel Fold appeared in a YouTube ad ahead of the expected announcement at Google I/O later today. As I mentioned 9to5Googlethe Youtube video not included It features multiple NBA stars and multiple close-up shots of the upcoming Pixel Fold in everyday use.
The link was shared titled “Google Pixel x NBA: The Greatest Watch Party” Tweet Sent by the official Google Pixel account last night. It appears that Google prematurely posted the link because the tweet enticed readers to “check back tomorrow.” However, the tweet also includes a photo of MVP Joel Embiid clearly holding a Pixel Fold, so perhaps it’s best not to think twice about it.
Besides showing the Pixel Fold from a variety of angles, the video also demonstrates some of its capabilities. We see a lot of hinge (and frame) movement, as we show the fold closed, fully open, and placed on a desk that’s partially opened at a 90-degree angle. A simulated video call with Giannis Antetokounmpo also shows how the camera feed can seamlessly switch between indoor and outdoor displays.
The video doesn’t give us any information about the Pixel Fold’s specifications. The trusted leaker Roland Quandt It claims that the internal screen of the device is a 7.6-inch OLED (2208 x 1840, 379 ppi), and the external screen is a 5.8-inch OLED (2092 x 1080, 408 ppi).
The NBA has an established relationship with Google. Last year, the search giant created a pixel circuit – A virtual stadium where users can experience the NBA – and the 2023 NBA Playoffs “Brought to you by Google Pixel”. Google has also collaborated with the Basketball Association on previous announcements, having released a similar promotional video for the Pixel 7. Back in October.
