After a two-week delay, Pixel 6 and 6 Pro owners today started seeing the Android 12L update with the March Feature Drop.
The Pixel 6’s Android 12L update brings a slew of functional and UI tweaks – Detailed here – As well as several patches. In total, 76 issues were addressed on the latest Google phones.
Meanwhile, a few more features were announced with Practice Drop Exclusive to the Pixel 6 family. This includes Live Caption for calls, where you can type replies that are read aloud on the other end, and Night Sight on Snapchat (Application update required). Meanwhile, Spanish and Italian are now supported by recorder application and Live Translate. Today’s interpreter mode also works in these languages, in addition to French.
One of the most important features is the battery tool for Bluetooth devices, like headphones. After updating to Android 12L, you should see an update for Settings Services in the Play Store. Next, find this “application” in the list of tools to put the “battery” on your home screen.
A quick glance at the lock screen/home screen will also show battery information, earthquake alerts, a safety check countdown (Personal Safety), and a handy prompt to turn off alarms if tomorrow is a holiday. However, this ability has not yet been released.
