The card is clearly a prototype, with a red plate design and voltage contacts in places. What is clear, however, is that this design matches what AMD was teasing in late August with three red stripes on the heatsink.

The card is longer than the Radeon 6900 design, but features the same power connector configuration as the RDNA2 GPU, which is a dual 8-pin connector design. The cooler doesn’t seem to have any room for additional power connectors, so this could be either the Radeon 7900 XT or the flagship 7900 XTX, which likely share the same triple-fan design.

This prototype is not a finished product, what is clearly missing is the back plate found on all high-end reference RDNA2 models. Moreover, don’t worry about the red PCB, it will change to black for sure.

AMD is now preparing to announce the Radeon 7900 series on Thursday, and the product launch is rumored to be in early December. At least two cards will be announced, including the 7900XT and 7900XTX based on a Navi 31 GPU with an RDNA3 architecture and an innovative chip design.
