The crew conducted an immediate search and rescue operation, along with the US Coast Guard supporting the search effort with boats and a helicopter, and unfortunately despite the quick rescue the passenger was fatally injured. We offer our full support to the authorities as they investigate this matter. We are deeply saddened by this incident and offer our deepest condolences to the family and those affected.

Upon exiting the airport, WESH2 News spoke with several passengers who said they were alerted to the situation.
