Officials believe people may be trapped inside the building.
One person has died and at least six others have been injured after a garage collapsed in Lower Manhattan in midtown New York. CNN International.
According to an official source from the New York Fire Department, the search for survivors is still ongoing and there are fears that the structure is not stable and could lead to another collapse.

Firefighters are using the support of sniffer dogs, drones and robots to monitor the building pending a structural assessment of the building.

“We’re trying to see if we can get close enough to make sure there’s nobody inside those cars,” New York Fire Chief John Esposito said.
The cause of the building collapse is yet to be ascertained.
