The National Police arrested a man who tried to flee an operation after abandoning a jeep he was driving at high speed, loaded with 600 kilos of hashish, from agents in a town near Jerez de La Frontera, Spain. The man fled but was arrested the next day and was found to have hidden several weapons and ammunition in the house.
The police operation on July 28 led to several days following the movements of a young man in SanlĂșcar de Barrameda, 25 kilometers from Jerez de La Frontera, after an investigation into drug trafficking.
“After gathering relevant information, agents were about to arrest him and attempted to intercept his vehicle. [um BMW X5], on his way back from hiding. However, in the presence of the police, the suspect ignored the agents’ signals and rushed towards them, displaying excessive violence and complete disregard for the lives of the agents,” the National Police said.
Two of the officers had to jump and roll down a ramp to avoid being run over, while the third person inside the car had enough time to react and get out of the vehicle.
The National Police calculates that the BMW hit the police car at 100 km/h and immobilized it. Although one of the men was found hiding in a nearby plot while preparing the hideout, the two occupants managed to escape.
Agents seized an all-terrain vehicle, 20 bales of hashish (about 600 kg) and a loaded pistol carried in the back seats of the car.
Weapons and money
The next day, agents stopped the SUV driver sleeping at a hotel in Jerez de la Frontera. Subsequently, they searched for a house in the coastal town of Sibeona, 10 kilometers from where the car was seized.
A large number of arms and ammunition including guns, revolvers, double barrel guns, a pocket pistol and an AK 47, cash, lots of jewelery were recovered from the house of the alleged smuggler with the support of a dog unit. , documents, dark clothing and various mountain passes.
