The source said the couple married Saturday during an “intimate ceremony in Las Vegas.”
Lopez confirmed their Vegas wedding in her newsletter on Sunday, ending the letter with a new name: Mrs. Jennifer Lynn Affleck.
“Last night we flew to Vegas, queued up for a license with four other couples, all made the same trip to the wedding capital of the world,” Lopez wrote. “We barely made it to the little white wedding chapel by midnight. They stayed open late for a few minutes, let’s take pictures in a pink Cadillac convertible, apparently the King used once (but if we want Elvis to show himself, that’s an extra cost and he was at the bed). “
Lopez wrote that she was wearing a dress from an old movie, and Affleck wore a jacket from his wardrobe.
“We read our vows in the chapel and gave each other the rings we would wear for the rest of our lives,” she wrote. “In the end it was the best wedding we could have ever imagined.”
By November 2002, the two were engaged, but postponed their marriage in September 2003 due to “excessive media interest” in their marriage.
They never made it to the aisle and officially canceled their engagement in January 2004.
Then, it took another 17 years – with children and marriage – before Lopez and Affleck found their way to each other.
Affleck proposed to Lopez back in April while soaking in a bubble bath.
‘I was totally surprised and he looked into his eyes smiling and crying at the same time trying hard to come to terms with the fact that after 20 years this was happening all over again, I was literally speechless and said, ‘Is this a yes?’ I said yes of course that’s yes,” she wrote in her newsletter.
